About Us

about us « home

Photo of the Extreme Powder Coating shopExtreme Powder Coating has been in business for ten years in Blooming Prairie, MN. Our doors have been open since December 1, 2000. Greg Peterson (President and Owner) brought his high standards, artistic abilities, and experience to his business. Through his diligence, and attention to detail a foundation was laid for a powder coating shop in the Southern Minnesota area. This level of service and commitment to quality will be extended to you and your company in a professional manner.

Our size stands out against our competitors. Our 12,500 square-foot facility accommodates extra large parts. Also, our 19’ x 34’ curing oven is one of the largest in the tri-state area.

We are located in a small community that values integrity. To you, our valued customer, this means we deliver top-quality craftsmanship on time, every time, at prices that make you smile. We strive for excellent customer service and will always work in your best interest.

How Extreme Powder Coating Got Started

Around the community and the upper Midwest, dirt track racing is a part of the culture and the people. This laid the foundation for a powder coating shop in Blooming Prairie. We wanted to finish race car chassis for top builders in the region. We did, and still do. We harnessed a solid reputation, and our business grew from there.

Mission Statement: THE FOUR E’s

Photo of the Extreme Powder Coating ovenEXCELLENCE: We will apply an attractive, durable finish that’s tougher than paint. Period. You’ll see no runs, drips, or sags in the finishes we apply. And with the attention to detail and care you’ll find in our shop, you can count on many years of trouble-free service. Our powder coats are relatively permanent. They don’t crack, chip, or peel.

EXPECT: Speedy turn-around times. A staff of eight are available to accomodate you. And we’ll work extra shifts to get your job completed on time, every time. The needs of our customers come first.

ECONOMY: You’ll get a low bill for our services. Although our building and equipment are relatively new and sate-of-the-art, the process requires minimal operator training and supervision. We’re located in a small town, with lower overhead expenses. Because powder coating is a “green” process, there are fewer state and federal regulations to run costs up. Finally, our energy consumption is minimal because our oven is exceptionally efficient. In fact, the exhaust from our oven is recycled into our plant, which lowers heating costs and keeps us toasty warm in the winter. And that’s saying something in Minnesota.

ENVIRONMENTAL SENSITIVITY: We’re nice to nature. Unlike paint shops, which release smelly volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the air we breathe, the powder coating process releases no VOCs. That’s why there are fewer regulations for powder coating companies. That’s reason enough to choose powder over liquid paints. We are proud to be a part of a green industry.
